always a good time. i used to come here very often when i worked at tthe medical school but i finally returned as a guest and i will say it was a great experience. i got to have my family come and they enjoyed it as well. we signed up for excursions with the staff from the hotel and they gave suggestions of local resturaunts. due to covid there are some restrictions but none the less the resort upheld the standard you would expect. very good staffing and clean. the cleaning people were very detailed when cleaning my rooms and i requested for them to not come daily but they went above and beyond on the days they did come. you can smell the cleanliness from a distance.very close to the airport and the mall so if you want a good bang for your buck this is it. and ALL INCLUSIVE. need i say more?

Friendly staff who work very hard, but it is very noticeable that the resort is massively understaffed with an underlying unhappiness amongst them over poor management. I had to ask for my minibar to be restocked many times, quite often my request was ignored for days. I upgraded my room to make use of the alcohol in the minibar but I was told that the alcohol supply in the room wasn't replenished and you only got 4 x bottles (gin, rim, whisky, vodka) for your whole stay. **My biggest concern was food hygiene**. I went to the buffet and asked for a cooked chicken breast, the guy serving used the tongs which he was using to handle raw chicken to pick up the cooked chicken breast and hand it to my plate. I declined the chicken and moved on. This is a serious cross contamination risk and can make people very unwell. I suggest all kitchen/waiting staff are reminded about the dangers of cross contamination. The rooms were clean and modern and the hotel provide a stress free COVID testing service. The pool bar closes too early (1730) and should be open later in the evening. Mikael and Romaine are excellent bartenders and deserve a reward for working so hard.

Very nice grounds. Quite a few problems though. Drain in room shower was broken. Told the front desk.... They NEVER fixed it... Or even checked to see if they had fixed it. All the restaurants closed @ 10am which in my opinion is a little early. The staff was EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB of directing people to whatever they needed. For the money paid..... They need to do a little bit better.

3.5 star. Don't expect asian stylehospitality. Most -not all- staff at reception desk was behaving mildly aggressive, answering questions with loud voice. Rooms cleaned well. Beach and sea were nice. Enjoyed the pool. All inclusive food was good with 3 different dining options available at the time we were there, but after 5 days we felt there was a lack of variation and change in menus. Would visit again but for shorter period.

I reviewed this resort a day too early. I still give them a great rating do to all the friendly staff. WATCH THEM DAMN ELEVATOR DOORS. THEY ARE TRICKY. There were a lot of the guest mad due to security advising them to place the mask on and others guest were told to place the mask fully on (cover you nose too). All of the staff wore mask 😷. Everything I ask for within normal resort limits was provided. The only thing that had me stumped was the Room Deposit (if I destroyed the room) of $150. You get it back as a hotel credit at the end when you check out. But, you aren't told that in the beginning. You can only use it on the resort. However, most people have over packed due to shopping and can barely close to luggage 🧳. The front desk encourages you to use it a the resort store. There is hardly anything you want to buy when you're leaving because everything is for use at the resort. But, I do know for next time. Oh yeah, if you're not a fan of kids stay at the adults only side!

PROS-This was a very relaxing vacation. The food is outstanding very delicious. The pool and beach water was perfect. They have a really good gym and all the equipment i needed. Staff was very nice. CONS- Gift shop should have a better selection for hotel credit and the elevator doors are very Dangerous. has no sensor so you can get crushed. I already Hurt my shoulder. children be careful.

Came here to celebrate both my cousins birthday. Tell them in advance you get balloons in your room and champagne. Food was great. Amenities were great on the “family side” honestly did not see the reason to spend a extra 200$ for the adult side. It’s not as fun as the “family side.” One problem I had was the music. They do not cater to the population that actually come to this resort music wise. Other then that they are very accommodating. Our stay was great. Will definitely be back. Go on the beach and get a great massage from locals Johnny and Trudy!

My reservation was for 4 days 3 nights at oceanfront with butler service. The stay was so nice we extended our stay an extra day. The food was good, the service and cleanliness was phenomenal. Staff was caring, courteous and allowed us to stick around for our late checkout. My room was decorated with balloons, a delicious cheese and fruit platter and wine for my birthday. There were rose petals and candles lit leading to my tub later that evening after a night out on the town. We ate cake and sipped champagne in the tub 🙂. I love this place!!! If you’re looking for a real getaway, this is it!!!!! Hands Down.

I was there for 3 nights, on my way to board the cruise ship I work in. They did an amazing job handing the huge amount of cruise workers checking in at the same time. Meals were on time, they were accommodating. Not everything was perfect but you could see they tried to be effective. We appreciate you, Sonesta team.

A beautiful resort close to the airport but also close to the beach. Staff is relatively friendly but like all islands the people kind of keep to themselves. Therefore a few little bars close to the resort so you don't have to venture off too far. Spent most days at the pool on the family side. Alcohol and drinks in the. Overall it was a good stay.

Staff was friendly and amazing! From the waitstaff to the bartenders to the receptionists. They need to work on adding varieties of food to the buffet but overall was good. Only disappointment was the entertainment. There was no music playing around the pool bar etc. Many people were complaining about that. As great of a voice the lady who was singing was I expected more if Reggae music/band than classic music. We are on an island. A few shows wouldn't hurt either. Stayed at many other resorts on the island before, had fire toss, salsa music/singers/djs, comedy shows etc. The latest entertainment on my 8 day stay was over by 8pm and then there literally was nothing to do 😩. But the waitstaff was so awesome!!!

Currently here on a 4day stay& have had to spend 2 of those days in isolation because im waiting on results to be emailed to me (from their airport) ...i understand being safe but find it pretty unfair & a waste of my $ that im so restricted. When i ask nobody seems to know much, all they say is wait for the email. & the # they gave me keeps saying disconnected . I was very excited to visit this island & hotel but this experience so far has left a bad taste in my mouth ..if management sees this, feel free to contact me.

Staff/service extremely terrible. In January 2020 the hotel was very crowded... Long waiting for having meals at the restaurants... Waiting to take the lifts/elevators... I wouldn't stay again. Actually I am in SXM again and am trying The Atrium Hotel in Simpson Bay, wich, by the way, in my opinion is way better deal!

I’m pretty late on this review BUT we’ll worth it!! I came and stayed at this hotel back in April 2019 BEAUTIFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. I came for my birthday 🥳 so when I stepped out that day and came back the staff had decorated my room with 🎈 balloons 🎈 and left me a bottle of wine two cups and note SAYING HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎉🎈I felt special because it wasn’t something they had to do but it was something they chose to do to make one of many of their guess feel special! I would always stay here great customer service and food!! P.s. I toke video of how they decorated the room so sorry your unable to see it but it was NICE!!!

Gran ubicación cerca del aeropuerto y de Maho Beach (la playa desde donde se pueden ver y sentir los aviones aterrizar y despegar). Los restaurantes y bares están ok. Afuera tienen taxis 24/7.

Muy grata experiencia. Aun cuando todos en la Isla están luchando por reconstruirla tras ser severamente dañados por uno de los mas fuertes huracanes en la historia, todos trabajan con muy buen animo y entusiasmo. El servicio de los colaboradores muy bueno, se esmeran por hacerte sentir bienvenido y las instalaciones van recuperandose. La hemos pasado fenomenal y lo recomiendo ampliamente.

All inclusive resort. Great pool. Building was under construction due to previous hurricane. Staff was quite rude. Elevators stop at every floor as they weren’t in sync. Upon our arrival Room needed to be cleaned again. We paid for top floor ocean view which was lovely but with all the construction going on constantly it became annoying. Hammering, saws, electric staple guns going on sounded like constant fireworks.

The place is very new and nice. Unfortunately, it is not worth the price you pay. The price is way too much, its a very small space for the hotel. Not much places to visit within the hotel. The beach/ocean is very wavy and dangerous. We went to another beach near the hotel (10 minutes walk) that was much more calm... But you have to pay 5$ US for each long chair/beach umbrella you want. The service is overall pretty so so.... I have been to Cuba about 8 times and the people serve you with so much joy and happiness its great. Here... Everyone just seems tired of being there. They go to bring our drinks... It takes 15 minutes. They bring our food with no forks ???!!! I was expecting so much more out of this place since i have heard so many good things. But this is just really sad and not worth as much as 2000$ for a regular price. Good thing we got a much better deal. The view is spectacular tho. The planes landing and leaving is breathtaking. The entertainment is... Very poor. It is never very clear what kind of show they have and it's mostly all out of the hotel (either next to it or across the Street) so we always wonder if we have to pay for things or not. Alcool is so cheap is amazing ! You can buy a bottle of Vodka that costs 50$ in Montreal for .... 2 for 22$. Its unbelievable. Hope this review helps !

Las instalaciones del hotel muy lindas. Entretenimiento horrible, solo hablan en inglés, apenas hacen juegos, no tratan de integrar a los que no hablamos el idioma. En los restaurantes bufet no reponen y a algunos funcionarios les falta amabilidad! La playa y la piscina muy lindas. Con respecto a su repuesta del entretenimiento sería bueno que esté presente porque en la piscina nos preguntaron si queríamos participary cuando le dijimos que sólo hablamos español el chico se fue y no volvió. Hoy por ejemplo (30/05) en la noche el entretenimiento estuvo muy lindo y con muchas canciones en español, portugués y salsa!
